Abstract
This article analyzes the labor market of Ukraine and consider its problems in recent years. Lead indicators of the labour market – employment and unemployment – were investigated. The demand and supply on the labour market were analyzed, the health status of Ukraine and reasons of unemployment were assessed. The factors that are the cause of unemployment and the emergence of informal employment were identified. The reasons for the lack interest of employers in persons of pre-retirement age due to the lack of appropriate skills and qualifications also have been identified. Were given recommendations for the solving reveals problems on the labour market and ensuring its effective functioning.
