Abstract

The purpose of the study is to assess the competitiveness of educational institutions in the context of the general economic crisis situation in Ukraine and its use in the system of management of educational institutions. Several general economic methods (generalization, grouping, analysis, synthesis, graphic method), and also specific methods for assessing competitiveness (competitive analysis, competition march, competitive market map, and methodology for calculating the Herfindahl-Hirschman index) were used to conduct the study. It has been proved that the use of classical tools for assessing the competitiveness of business entities by educational institutions is informative and should be useful in determining the strategic guidelines for the development of higher education institutions and developing their general strategy, without which the successful existence of these social institutions is impossible under conditions not only of economic , but also the socio-ethical crisis in Ukraine.
