Abstract
An assessment of the innovation activity of a country is a complex multidimensional process, which should be based on objective data and provide relevant and clear information on the results of this assessment. Therefore, the article proposes an algorithm for calculating the innovation ranking of the regions, which includes: calculation of the rating number of the innovation efficiency of the region on the basis of the determination of the benchmark; calculation of the rating number of innovations in the region based on the sum of places; definition of the integral innovation rating of the region and place of the region in this ranking
