Abstract
Objective. Using the method of analysis, compare the translations of the sonnet 131 by W. Shakespeare and clarify the features of the poetic translation of Shakespeare’s sonnets into the Ukrainian language. Methods. The solution of the tasks was carried out with the help of such methods as translation and comparative analysis, comparison of stylistic phenomena and their inconsistencies in the texts of the original and translation for translation purposes; an analysis of the ways of transferring those transformations used in the reproduction of stylistic means in the Ukrainian language. Results. In the process of the study, a comparative analysis of the translations of the sonnet 131 by W. Shakespeare made by I. Franko and D. Palamarchuk was carried out. The internal structure of the translated sonnet and the translation transformations applied in the PT were examined and analyzed. The reproduction or logization of stylistic devices of the original is considered.
