Abstract

The article analyses the general problems of translating financial terms while translating them from English into Ukrainian. The actuality of the problem is reasoned mainly by the increasing cooperation between the financial institutions of our country and the foreign ones. The aim of the article is connected with correlation between the financial term systems of the English and Ukrainian languages as well as the analysis of the main ways of terms rendering in the process of translating. The theoretical basis of the problem mentioned has been also analysed including the works of such famous scientists as V. Karaban, Ye. Skorokhodko, A. Kovalenko and others. The authors describe and compare word building models in the financial sphere, analyse and classify most of the problems of terms translating to bear in mind the aim of preserving meaning adequacy. Great deal of attention is paid to the numerous translating transformations like contextual substitution, calque translation, transcoding, antonymous translation, compression, decompression, generalization of meaning and others. The authors always try to prove their conclusions with lexical examples. Productivity of the article’s target is proved by the fact that Ukraine is being experienced great economical challenges and the foreign experience is of great value.
