Abstract

The author analyzes variational author’s approaches to understanding the essence of concepts such as «investment», «politics», «investment policy». The three most common approaches to understanding the essence of the concept of «investment» — value (values of a certain type (property and intellectual values), which, under the conditions of a correct definition of the object of investment, generate effects of different nature), operational (certain types of economic operations — investment of capital, which generates effects of different nature), cost (costs of economic entities that have a target nature, generate effects of different nature). The author’s approach to understanding the essence of such concepts as «investments», «politics», «investment policy» is synthesized. Under the investment policy, it is proposed to understand the complex of state measures aimed at improving the quantitative and qualitative parameters, ensuring the continuity of the investment process, in other words, raising the investment image of the state. The main functions of the investment policy of the country are determined, among which the increase of the investment image of the country, ensuring the expanded reproduction of the main means of production, ensuring the improvement of the parameters of the country’s socio-economic development, etc. It is concluded that the main factor affecting investment policy determines its details, the level of socio-economic development of the country. The practical significance of the results obtained is the possibility of their use in growth strategy development, enhancing the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of Ukraine.
