Purpose: study of creativity as a social phenomenon that affects different social processes related to the formation, use and redistribution of wealth. Methodology: Comparative analysis was carried out to study the phenomena of economic and creative activities, also used general logical methods. Findings.Analyzed the place and importance of creativity as a socio-economic phenomenon, set the main features of the creative economy, as well as the necessary social transformation. Originality.Creativity is considered as the universal heritage, is an instrument of innovation and a new method of obtaining. Practical value. Research materials may be used in the study of such disciplines as philosophy, social philosophy, pedagogy, psychology, culture, and others.
