Abstract

In the present conditions of the world economy tourism is characterized by the rapid development, contributes to the total gross domestic product, promotes economic growth, and creates new jobs in related industries. Security of Ukraine valuable natural and cultural resources should be the basis for improving the competitiveness of the domestic tourism industry on the international tourism market. Aims and Objectives: positioning and competitiveness of the tourism industry of Ukraine on the international tourism market. Methods: comparative analysis, statistical and mathematical analysis, the method of expert evaluations. Results: The major trends in international tourism in Ukraine were investigated. The place of Ukraine in the global travel and tourism competitiveness index were investigated. Conclusions: The competitiveness of the tourism industry of the state in the global tourism market should take place by ensuring high profitability of the sector, creating a positive image of the state in the international tourism market
