Abstract

There are many interpretations of the term “Machiavellianism” of different Sciences, which contributes to discrepancies in its definition. In the framework of psychological science have been developed methods of diagnostics of human behavior “Scale of Machiavellianism and the Dark triad personality traits” that define the degree of manifestation of this phenomenon in the behavior and character of the person. There is a tendency to equate the manipulation of information, political pragmatism and political manipulation Machiavellianism, which partly can be explained to non-scientific format for their use and the fact that they are the forms through which it is implemented Machiavellianism as a behavior pattern. Also, it should be noted that the term “Machiavellian” has acquired independent significance, because it is used often in a figurative sense and ordinary practical level and its application equated to the pragmatic (and sometimes selfish) is the process of achieving the goal.
