Abstract
The textbook reveals the role and significance of the development of intellectual creative activity and the commercialization of its results for the effective functioning and development of business entities and the state as a whole. The textbook examines the general provisions of inventive, patent and innovative activities, the basis of the legislation of Ukraine on intellectual property and the protection of rights to inventions, which are necessary in order to navigate patent information, be able to correctly issue an application for an invention (useful model), competently analyze the novelty and perspective of a technical solution in order to determine its protectability and patent purity.
