Abstract
The article considers the role of the Internet and Internet technologies related to the use of a foreign language in virtual social networks. It is pointed out that they provide participants with a wide range of opportunities for fruitful and real use of language in practice. It is emphasized that the introduction of Internet technologies in the process of studying a foreign language creates the conditions for intensification of the educational process and provides a transition from mechanical learning to master the ability to acquire new knowledge, and accelerates learning, promotes motivation, individualizes learning and generally improves the quality of assimilation of the material.
