Abstract

This is tutorial was developed for the study of the discipline " Design of objects and interior of premises of establishments of hotel and restaurant business" by applicants for higher education in the specialty 241 "Hotel and restaurant business". It provides basic information on the chronology of the emergence and development of styles in art, architecture, and interior design. The definitions of the main terms are provided, the theoretical foundations of design are considered and the possibilities of their use at different levels of shaping the interiors of the premises of the hotel and restaurant business are analyzed. Attention is paid to the selection of color solutions, finishing materials, lighting schemes in interior design. Issues of design and construction of furniture, the quality of furniture products are considered, characteristics of modern materials for the production of furniture products, general principles and procedure for furnishing rooms of hotels and restaurants are provided.
