Abstract
The article considers four language skills that need to be developed for full communication in a foreign language and provides a list of available resources today for their development. It is also emphasized that the path to mastery is a practice, because to acquire each of these skills, a foreign language must become an integral part of life and one of such opportunities is the Au-pair youth cultural exchange program, which features direct contact with native speakers and complete immersion in a foreign language environment, as well as acquaintance with the culture and traditions of other countries whose languages are studied.
