Abstract
The article is devoted to the theoretical principles of the politeness strategies verbalization specificity study in English discourse. The linguistic aspect of the study of politeness is linked to the study of this category at lexical, morphological and syntactic levels, followed by the analysis of the features of the units that represent politeness in various genres and discourses. The relevance of the topic is due to the focus of linguistics on the analysis of English discourse and, at the same time, the lack of a comprehensive analysis of communicators’ speech interaction in the discourse explored within the framework of politeness theory. The conducted analysis of the theoretical foundations of politeness study clarifies and systematizes scientific visions and approaches to the study of the category of politeness in various spheres of humanitarian knowledge. The purpose of the article is to define the peculiarities of the strategic and speech implementation of English discourse in the aspect of politeness.
