Abstract
The article presents the appropriateness of the use of the method of discriminant analysis in studying the regional economic security on data of socio-economic development of a region. Classification functions of determining the region’s belonging to the corresponding group of economic security are developed: “good”, “sufficiently”, and “satisfactory”. The evaluation of the correctness of the received functions indicates the expediency of their use. On the basis of actual data of socio-economic development of regions for 2008-2015, the states of economic security of regions of Ukraine are determined and their retrospective analysis is carried out.
