Abstract

The purpose of the research is to identify latent (hidden) indicators of regional economic security using the method of canonical correlations; to build the models of regional economic security’s assessment. The methods of theoretical generalization are used for study and systematization of regional economic safety’s factors. System analysis methods, namely the method of canonical analysis were used to identify the effective management’s latent factors of regional economic security. Ranking method made possible to determine the ranged sequence of the primary factors – symptoms of regional economic security and to build a regional ranking in terms of regional economic security. The method of comparison has allowed identifying common and distinctive features of the calculation results of regional economic security for the two models. The application of canonical analysis to identify the effective management’s latent factors of regional economic security has allowed: at the first, to determine the level of importance of each factor’s indicators depending on the factor’s influence to productive signs; at the second, to rank the primary factors - symptoms of regional economic security; and at the third, to build the models of regional economic security’s assessment.
