Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the essence of the concept «economic security of the country», its structural elements identification, as well as substantiation of further directions in achieving its optimal level. Іn the process of research, the following general scientific methods were used: theo-retical generalization, comparison and grouping — to determine the essence of the concept of «eco-nomic security» at the macro, meso and micro levels; analysis and synthesis — when identifying the internal elements of the economic security of the state; induction and deduction, system approach — in modeling the mechanism of economic security of the country, taking into account the influence of the risks of different etiologies. The «economic security»concept essence at the level of the country, the region and the enterprise according to the representatives of various scientific schools was considered, as well as the author’s interpretation of such definition was proposed. The authors believe that the country’s economic security is a state of the state’s economic system, which provides protection of social rights and a decent standard of living for citizens, creates a stable and competitive national economy that is growing and capable of counteracting the effects of threats of endogenous and exogenous nature. Were determined levels, internal components of economic security, as well as on the basis of a systematic approach, an appropriate model of economic security was proposed that takes into account the risks of endogenous and exogenous origin. The main problems identified are those that undermine the level of economic security in Ukraine and further grounded on minimizing them, which provides prospects for restoring the economic potential of Ukraine’s national economy in the coming years. Further re-search will be a question of modeling the mechanism of economic security of the country on the basis of a systematic approach, as well as determining the effect (economic, social, ecological, etc.) from its introduction into practical activities at the macro, meso and micro levels.
