Abstract

The article investigates the state of the wholesale and retail trade in Ukraine on the basis of open statistical information. The authors analyze the volume of wholesale and retail trade, the approach to determining their real volume by using the method of comparative prices, that is, reduced to 2014, is analyzed, their dynamics and structure are analyzed. In retail trade in 2017 there was a sharp decline in the nominal volume of sales – by 360 billion UAH, or by 30%. It should be noted that the decline in retail turnover in 2017 was due to a decrease in this indicator in the segment of individual entrepre-neurs, which by 2017 formed more than half of the total retail trade turnover. And in 2017, the fall in this segment amounted to 389.1 billion UAH (63%). One of the reasons for this result is changes in tax legislation. The current state of development of wholesale trade enterprises is characterized by an extensive network of economic relations at the state and regional levels and various commercial operations, thereby expanding the economic infrastructure of the wholesale market. Wholesale trade is characterized by the presence of bilateral economic relations with suppliers and buyers of goods. By analyzing the number of business entities in the field of trade, it was concluded that a significant decrease in the number of individuals-entrepreneurs in 2016–2017 years. Thus, part of the retail trade turnover simply turned into a shadow. This fact is confirmed by the fact that legal entities in the sphere of retail trade were observed small, but growth – by 5%. The graphic method analyzes the structure of retail trade turnover in Ukraine for 2017–2018, and concluded that there are significant regional disproportions in retail trade. Common features in trade and intermediary structures in Ukraine and some foreign countries are as follows: 1) an increase in the number of types of intermediary organizations, a combination of their various functions, universalization and specialization, 2) strengthening the role of trade and intermediary structures in the supply of goods for logistics centers, centers for processing products; 3) the increasing role of procurement and sales of services for industrial consumers; 4) integration forms of wholesale intermediary organizations are developing, they are formed on a contractual or joint basis. In carrying out the work method-ological grounds were methods of comparison, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, abstraction, description, generaliza-tion, analogy, formalization and systematic approach.
