Abstract

The article examines the position of scientists regarding disclosure of the "economic space" essence. Systematization of a wide range of foreign and domestic scientists developed definitions and "economic space" categorical framework allowed to allocate formed approaches to its study: territorial, informational, resource, process, institutional, systematic. Territorial approach to the economic space determining is the most common and dominant among the economic space theory conceptual apparatus researchers, its supporters practical identify economic space with the concept of "territory". Economic space investigation resource approach based on the economic relations studying that arising over the distribution and redistribution of resources. Information approach based on the economic process information component, where the space formed by information flows, transactions in the form of exchange of information and the entry into the overall information flow. Process approach basically includes aggregate economic process which should be seen as the interaction between economic actors in the institutional environment focused on the results of joint activities. The institutional approach is based on the hypothesis that economic space is a sphere of activity of economic entities and their relationships within the existing institutional framework
