Abstract

The article is devoted to the description of approaches to the definition and generalization of the concept of innovation cluster. The main condition for the effective functioning of the innovation space is the formation and development of an innovation cluster. Nowadays cluster politics and the process of clustering the national economy occupy one of the central places in modern economic science. An analysis of the definitions of the concept of innovation cluster proved the diversity of views on this issue. Most authors believe that the innovation cluster is a specific system, namely: networks of innovationentrepreneurial type, groups of interconnected companies, innovation system, integral system of enterprises, group of enterprises, network interaction, enterprise alliance, subsystem element throughput, flexible and mobile structure. A number of authors consider this concept from a functional point of view, that is, they define the innovation cluster as the interaction of different functions: the generation of scientific knowledge; distribution of new knowledge and discoveries; production of innovative products; production, marketing, finance; training highly skilled specialists, etc. Proponents of the process approach define the innovation cluster as an opportunity to implement the innovation process, while the key points are the innovation chain from the development of a fundamental scientific idea to the production and distribution of finished products. Some authors focus on defining the content of the concept of the innovation cluster on the use of resources.
