Abstract

The objective of the article is to carry out a rating assessment of the activities of international tourist business main subjects — multinational companies in the tourist accommodation sector. To achieve the objectives and goals, the following research methods are used in the work: systematic and comprehensive analysis, analytical and comparative methods, the rating method of analysis (to determine the position of the tourist accommodation sector multinational companies among competitors), process approach (for architectural representation of international hotel companies development stages in the conditions of globalization), graphic and tabular methods (for visual representation of statistical material, visualization of theoretical and practical positions). The carried out rating analysis of the activities of international tourist business main subjects — multinational companies in the tourist accommodation sector, made it possible to single out the following trends: 1) predominance in the Top 10 rankings (2016–2017) of international hotel companies operators based in the United States; 2) a high proportion (40 % in 2017) of the same companies with a difference in their positions in the ranking of the top 10 international hotel managed companies and the top 10 franchise companies; 3) prevailing consortia from the European market in the top 10 ranking of international hotel consortia in 2017, and unlike the ranking of international hotel companies and international hotel chains lack of consortia of the Asian market; 4) the presence of the international hotel chains and companies development stages that are closely related to their access to new countries’ markets and the expansion of their «country’s portfolio».
