Abstract

The processes of social identification are traced within the framework of one piece of work by Marko Vovchok "Proidysvit" by applying psychoanalytic interpretation. The analyzed experiences of characters justify that the process of social identification is complex and multifarious and affects the process of placing selfhood in the system of social relations of the social group through comprehension and evaluation of selfhood, and therefore is individual for each character. The conscious acceptance of own affiliation, needs and values of another social group found out to provide peace of mind and life balance of characters
