Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the current state of the Ukraine’s economy crediting by the banking sector. Analyzing, systematizing and generalizing the research works of the native economists, the indicators of the monetary statistics, the main tendencies have been revealed and the volumes of the banks' injections of the credit resources into the Ukraine’s economy have been analyzed as to the terms and the currencies types. It has been recognizeded that the Ukrainian banking system doesn’t adequately perform its main purpose – supporing the economy with funds. The banks were not able to quickly adapt to the financial and economic shocks and the long-lasting instability in the political sphere. This, in its turn, caused an increase in the level of a credit risk and, as a consequence - an increase in the reserve volumes and a decrease in the investment opportunities. It was emphasized that the banks have the sufficient potential for the expansion of the investment activity under the conditions of the introduction and the development of the new credit products for the economically active entities, the modernization of a risk control system, the expansion of the bank’s customer base, etc. First and foremost, it will allow to increase the competitiveness of the Ukrainian banks and provide the national economy with the essential financial resources and, consequently, the GDP growth and the stabilization of the situation both in the economy as a whole and in the banking system, in particular.
